Meeting with SA Navy Simons Town Command

Sikelela. Africa met with the SA Navy command structure, Flag Office Fleet Rear Admiral M. Nkomonde to request support for the following.

1. To determine the Simons Town and Saldanha Navy housing needs and other national Navy housing requirements.

2. To progress the alienation of state-owned land to allow for the following.

a) Submission of identified erven to government for land alienation at a reduced cost to allow for affordable housing for SANDF members.

b) The establishment of the necessary working groups progress this matter.

c) To achieve a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Human Settlements, the Secretary of Defense and Public Works to release state owned land.

3. To invite Navy applicants to subscribe to our Southern Peninsula housing projects. Our first project in Capri is available for subscription by the Navy in November.

The meeting went well and Admiral M. Nkomonde will be raising the matter with the chief of the Navy.
