General (retired) Zolile Nqose

Chairperson, Independent Non-Executive Director 

Zolile Nqose is a former General and Chief of Service Corps in the South African National Defence Force. He received military training in the Soviet Union in the 1960s. He is a founding member of the African National Congress's military wing, Umkhonto we Sizwe. Nqose was part of the Wankie Sipolilo Campaign in 1967, alongside Zola Skweyiya and Chris Hani. He escaped imprisonment and returned to Zambia. He later joined the South African National Defence and retired in 2005. Force. He is a founder member and the

Honourable Ganief Hendriks (MP)
Independent Lead, Non-Executive Director
Honourable Ganief Hendricks is a Member of the National Assembly. He is the founder and current leader of Al Jama-ah. Previously he was a City of Cape Town municipal councillor. He studied a BA Honours degree in Industrial Psychology at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). He was in the forefront as a campaigner for free education and the Free Nelson Mandela campaign. He was a founding member of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), the UWS newspaper Unibel and later Radio 786. He received a prestigious award as the Pioneer of the internet in South Africa in 2002. He served as vice-chairperson of the Forum for Black Journalists and was the general secretary of the trade union for workers with sensory disabilities.  He served as a cricket manager in non-racial sport. He holds several portfolios in parliament. He is a founding member and director of Sikelela.Africa and has a long history as a political activist. 

Rear Admiral Joseph Dlamini

Non-Executive Director

Admiral Dlamini is the Flag Officer Commanding Simonstown Naval base. In the 1980’s he was involved in student politics and joined the Congress of South African Students. In 1985 he joined the ANC youth league and the following year he joined Umkhonto we Sizwe. Dlamini received training and gathered expertise in various military fields including military leadership, damage control and logistics. He was the Simonstown base executive officer from 2010 to 2103 and then became Flag Officer Commanding Simonstown in 2015. He is a founder member of Sikelela.Africa.

Chief Majozi Mbiza
Chief Executive Officer

Chief Mbiza is a founder of Sikelela.Africa. He is the originator of the Sikelela.Africa vision to petition the state to take reasonable measures within its available resources to achieve the progressive realisation of the right to adequate housing for SANDF members and other citizens of the country. In this regard, he has been petitioning government since 2017 and has been instrumental in initiating pilot projects to purchase privately held land. He serves as a Warrant Officer in the Navy and is married with two children.

Chaplain MD Mpisana
Executive Director

Chaplain Mpisana currently serves as Fleet Chaplain in Simons Town Fleet Headquarters. She was born Pietermaritzburg and obtained a Bachelor Theology degree(BTH) and Advanced University Diploma in Information Studies (AUDIS) at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.  She is an ordained Pastor  and joined SANDF in 2002.  She is a director of Sikelela.Africa coordinating the Naval housing requirement for serving SANDF members in the Western Cape. She is a resident of Simonstown and has 3 children.

Advocate Lucas Mabotja
Executive Director, General Counsel

Advocate Mabotja is a former Hydrographic Survey Recorder onboard the SA Navy vessel, SAS Protea.  He holds an LLB from the University of South Africa, Program in Legislative Drafting from University of Pretoria. He was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 2014. He is currently a member of the National Bar Council of South Africa in the Nelson Mandela Rhodes Chambers, Cape Town. Advocate Mabotja is a founder member, director  and General Counsel for Sikelela.Africa.

Vuyani Nobongoza Executive Director, (Chair Finance Committee)

Vuyani has over twenty years of experience working in the Public Sector Finance Environment. He has occupied senior management positions in national, provincial, and local government structures.  His areas of responsibility are financial reporting, fiscal policy implementation and management, budgeting, revenue generation and supply chain management. He studied Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Auditing.  He further obtained post-graduate diploma in both Senior Management Development in Telecommunications Policy and Regulation with the University of South Africa. He also completed a Programme in Public Sector Finance with the University of Stellenbosch. He is registered member of the Institute of Internal Auditors of South Africa (IIA) and has served in various Board of Local and Provincial Audit Committee.Vuyani underwent basic military training for nine-month in Angola followed by specialised Instructors Courses in Germany. He was an Instructor for Engineering in Angola for a period of three-years.  He later transferred to the ANC Head Office in Lusaka as a Finance Manager in the Treasury Department. In South Africa, he continued working in the Treasury Department of the organization until 1994 when he was integrated into the South African Airforce

Mr Leonard Bonisile Malindi
Executive Director

Mr Malindi has been active in the community of Gugulethu, Cape Town through the civic movement since 1988. He has as extensive experience in local government and community development, having studied local government models through USAID in New York, Washington, Miami, Senegal, Dakar and Sao Paulo. He served on the local government negotiations that culminated in the formation of the current Cape Town Metro Council in1995. He served on the Exco of the Provincial Housing Board from 1994  to 1998. He held the office of  Provincial Secretary of the South African National Civic Organisation from 1994 to 1997. He continues to hold various executive offices with SANCO and  currently represents SANCO in NEDLAC. He is a director of BBZ Holdings (Pty) Ltd a company  owned by veterans. Mr Malindi is a founder member and executive director of Sikelela.Africa. He represents veteran’s interests.

Daniel obtained a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computing and Information Technology in 1993 and worked in the financial services sector as a coder, project manager and management consultant running major transformation programs in the sector with benefits in the hundreds of millions of Rands. These include restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing, insourcing, process optimisation, and digitisation.

Karabelo NkomoActing Communications Manager

In the Gospel industry Karabelo has worked with a lot of well-known Gospel artists and he is also a founding member of Sanctified Story (A Gospel group) & Marimba Melodika (a youth Marimba Band with international links). He markets and promots artists, groups and companies. He is married and is currently a Communications Manager for Sikelela.Africa.
